Axelle Touzeau leaves Bordeaux

Born in January 2001 in Pau, Axelle Touzeau played for a number of local clubs before joining the Girondins de Bordeaux in 2016 at the tender age of 15. She rose rapidly through the youth teams, and soon came to the attention of the national team. Axelle played for France at U16 and U17 level (5 caps), and made her first-team debut in the 2017-2018 season, coming on as a late sub against Paris FC.

Axelle continued to develop rapidly, signing her first professional contract in 2019. She was performing very well in pre-season training, only to see her plans thwarted by a knee injury. She then worked hard to recover and get back to the top level, battling her way back into the team. In order to pick up more first team experience, she spent a spell on loan with Rodez (D2). We wish Axelle all the very best as she moves on to pastures new.
