Estelle Cascarino leaves to take up a new challenge

Estelle was born in February 1997 in Saint-Priest. The future France international started her career with local club Lyon, where she picked up two league winner's medals. After a spell with Juvisy (now Paris FC), Estelle joined Bordeaux in 2019. She rapidly earned a place in the starting line-up, making 16 appearances and 14 starts in her first season (curtailed by Covid-19 in March).

Estelle is a flexible player capable of playing in the centre of defence, at full back or even on the left wing.  Respected and feared for her combination of speed and defensive strength, she has been called up to the France national side on several occasions, and even scored for Les Bleues against Kazakhstan (12-0) This season, she made 15 appearances for the Girondines (13 starts). Estelle has been a vital team player, making a big contribution to a successful season which saw Bordeaux achieve a massive objective by qualifying for the Champions League.

As impressively focused on the field as she is funny and carefree off it, Estelle is a popular figure at the club who will be greatly missed.
