In their first pre-season friendly ahead of the 2021-22 season, the Girondins were 1-0 winners at Bergerac's Stade Campréal. Jimmy Briand got the only goal of the game, from a penalty in the second half(67'). This was a festive occasion in Bergerac, with the club celebrating its 105th anniversary with this special gala match against the Girondins. Still in the early stages of pre-season preparations, Jean-Louis Gasset fielded two entirely different teams in the first and second halves. The first-half line-up featured: Poussin - Kwateng, Koscielny, Bessilé, Bellanova - Sissokho, Adli, Zerkane - Kalu, Oudin, Mara. Bergerac striker Adrian Sahibeddine smashed one off the crossbar early on (4'). Enock Kwateng then tested the Bergerac keeper (20'). Rémi Oudin took two promising free kicks later on in the first half, missing the target from one (37') before the keeper boxed away another (39').

It was all change at half time, with Jean-Louis Gasset sending on Rouyard - Carrique, Medioub, Lauray, Bakwa - Lacoux, Basic, Pardo, Traoré - Maja, Briand. The game was evenly-matched, with Rouyard called upon to make a big save early on. Jimmy Briand scored a penalty in the 67th minute, securing what proved to be the only goal of the game. A huge thank you to Bergerac-Périgord FC for their very warm welcome.
