Club Statement

The Girondins de Bordeaux will be playing in Ligue 1 in the 2021-2022 season. After considering the takeover project presented by Jogo Bonito, the DNCG's Appeals Commission has overturned the relegation order issued by the Supervisory Commission on 2 July 2021. FC Girondins de Bordeaux remains a Ligue 1 team. Nonetheless, the commission has imposed measures to reduce payroll costs and a ban on recruiting new players not covered by sales of existing squad members. The Girondins de de Bordeaux are delighted to have secured confirmation of their Ligue 1 status, and look forward to celebrating the club's 140th anniversary with a successful season in the top flight of French football.
