Alberth Elis officially joins Bordeaux

The Girondins de Bordeaux are delighted to confirm the arrival of Alberth Elis on a season-long loan with option to buy. He joins us from Boavista (Portugal). Born in 1996 in San Pedro Sula (Honduras), Alberth is a multi-talented attacking player. He started out with the most decorated side in Honduras, CD Olimpia, playing a major role in the 2014-2015 season while still a teenager. He won the league play-off finals three times (2014, 2015 and 2016), while also discovering the CONCACAF cup (10 matches, 3 goals).

After a spell with CF Monterrey (Mexico), Alberth headed north to the USA. He signed for Houston Dynamo, where he impressed with his ability to both score and create goals. In 101 appearances for the Texas side, the man they call "the panther" scored 35 goals and provided 28 assists. He played an integral part in winning the US Open Cup in 2018, when Houston overcame Philadelphia 3-0 in the final, thanks in no small part to two assists from Alberth.

Noted for his physical and technical capacities as well as his ability to tear defences apart, Alberth Elis made the move to Europe last season. With Portuguese side Boavista, he enjoyed a successful first season and racked up eight goals and six assists in 32 appearances. At 25 years of age, Alberth Elis is the complete package. Capable of playing up front or on the wing, he offers an enticing combination of power and technique.
