Born in May 1995 in Kristiansund (Norway), Stian started out with his hometown club before signing for Molde in 2012, at the age of 17. He was allowed to remain with Kristiansund for the rest of that season on a loan basis, and alternated spells with his boyhood club and the Molde youth teams in 2014 and 2015 (30 matches, 1 goal).
Stian became a Molde stalwart in 2016, cementing his place in the starting line-up. Over the next five seasons, he made 98 appearances in all competitions (scoring 4 goals and providing 3 assists), including 20 in European competition. The central defender also spent one season in Sweden, on loan with Elfsborg (26 matches, one goal).

Stian made his senior international debut in 2021. After featuring for the Noway youth teams, he has now won three caps for the first team, including two appearances in the World Cup qualifiers.
We are delighted to have secured the services of Stian for the next four years, and we wish him every success here in Bordeaux.
