Bordeaux waltz into the next round with a 10-0 victory!

Bordeaux set up in 4-2-4 formation, making their attacking intentions clear from the outset. It took no more than 10 minutes for the Girondins to take the lead, when Ricardo Mangas broke free down the left flank and delivered a superb cross for Abdel Jalil Medioub, who promptly lodged it in the back of the net for his first goal in Bordeaux colours (1-0, 10’). The chances kept coming for Bordeaux, with Mbaye Niang, Sékou Mara and Jimmy Briand all trying their luck, the latter with a shot on the turn which ended up on the crossbar (24’). Mbaye Niang finally made it two with a well-placed shot across goal (2-0, 29’). Jumeaux de M’Zouazia had a few attacking moments of their own, but the Girondins' defence dealt with them easily enough. In the final moments before the break, Mbaye Niang scored his second from close range (3-0, 45+1’).

Shortly after the break Timothée Pembélé (50’) made it 4-0, and barely two minutes later Mbaye Niang completed his hat trick (5-0, 52’). Les Jumeaux came tantalisingly close to pulling one back with a wonderful long-range effort, only to be denied by the crossbar (55’). The Girondins were soon back up the other end, with another flurry of goals for Javairo Dilrosun (6-0, 59’), Timothée Pembélé (7-0, 62’) and Mbaye Niang (8-0, 65’). The visitors looked very tired, and Bordeaux were living up to their billing as easy favourite. Issouf Sissokho added one more goal to the tally with an excellent solo effort (9-0, 70’). With the end now in sight, Josh Maja struck to put the Girondins into double figures (10-0, 77’). A resounding victory which puts Bordeaux through to the next round of the Coupe de France.
