Vanessa Gilles transferred to Angel City FC

Vanessa Gilles has officially signed for Angel City FC, the brand-new franchise launching this year in Los Angeles (USA) in time for the 2022 National Women's Soccer League season. Born in 1996 in Châteauguay (Canada), Vanessa came up through the youth ranks with the Cincinnati Bearcats. After four years of college soccer she joined West Ottawa SC, then Apollon Limassol before moving to Bordeaux in the summer of 2018.  

Physically gifted and blessed with immense potential, Vanessa's tireless hard work cemented her status as one of the most important members of the team, and one of the finest defenders in the top flight. In 3 full seasons with the club, Vanessa played a vital role in securing 3rd place last season. In the current campaign, Vanessa has already scored 4 goals in 14 league appearances. Her career total stands at 74 appearances for the Girondines, scoring 6 goals. She has also shone on the international stage, taking Olympic gold with Canada last summer. Her goals and defending prowess will live long in the club's memory, as will her address to the UN in New York during our 2019 American tour.
