The former France international (34 caps) enjoyed a long ad highly successful professional career stretching from 1990 to 2011, and now joins Bordeaux as goalkeeping coach for the men's first team. He replaces Vitor Pereira, who will remain at the club in a new role.

After starting out with Saint-Étienne, Grégory Coupet played for Olympique Lyonnais, Atlético Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. Grégory Coupet has an impressive haul of silverware from both his domestic and international careers: 7 Ligue 1 winner's medals, 1 Coupe de France, 1 Coupe de la Ligue, 7 Trophées des Champions and 2 Confederations Cups. He was also voted best goalkeeper in France at the UNFP awards for four years running, from 2003 to 2006.

After working as an analyst for CFoot and beIN Sports, Grégory Coupet was soon ready to get back on the training pitch.He started out as goalkeeping coach for Lyon's reserves in 2016, moving to Dijon four years later. The Girondins de Bordeaux are delighted to welcome Grégory Coupet as our new goalkeeping coach. Bienvenue à Bordeaux Grégory Coupet !
