Samuel Kalu leaves the club

Born in August 1997 in Aba, Nigeria, Samuel Kalu started out with local side GBS Academy. He made the move to Europe in 2016, joining Slovakian outfit FK AS Trenčín. He made 45 appearances for the club that season, scoring 7 goals. In January 2017 Samuel Kalu moved to Belgium, spending a season and a half with KAA Gent and scoring 10 goals in 55 games.

Samuel joined the Girondins de Bordeaux in August 2018. He has made a total of 86 appearances for the club, scoring 10 goals and providing 8 assists. During his time in Bordeaux he has also been called up for international duty, earning 17 senior caps for the Super Eagles. We would like to thank Samuel Kalu for all his hard work and professionalism during his three and a half years with the Girondins. We wish him all the very best for the next chapter in his career.
