Recent recruit Danylo Ignatenko is understandably greatly affected by the ongoing events in his home country of Ukraine. Manager David Guion and captain Josuha Guilavogui have both spoken out to express their support for the youngster. In a "situation which is very difficult to comprehend," David Guion explained that "Danylo was in tears at training yesterday. First and foremost, we're all human and we're all citizens. I personally have been very moved by what is going on. I have spoken to Dany, and he is very upset. His family are all in Ukraine. I told him I was there for him. The Club and the whole Girondins de Bordeaux family are right behind him." Captain Josuha Guilavogui added: "We don't realise how lucky we are to live in a country without war. Seeing a team-mate in such distress is hard. We're trying our best to show him our support and concern." The whole club stands with Danylo Ignatenko, his family and friends, and all those affected by the dramatic events unfolding in Ukraine.
