Cameroon's Indomitable Lions hosted Algeria in the World Cup qualifying play-offs. Junior started the game in Douala, but Cameroon slipped to a 1-0 defeat. The only goal of the game came from Islam Slimani (40'). Junior played almost the whole game, coming off late in the day (86') as he earned his 7th senior cap. Ex-Girondin Kevin Soni also won his first cap. Cameroon will need to pull off a big result in the return fixture in Algeria if they are to have any chance of reaching Qatar this November. That second leg is scheduled for 29 March (21:30).

Elsewhere in the World Cup qualifiers, Ghana hosted Nigeria. The Black Stars were held to a goalless draw (0-0). Gideon Mensah started on the left side of Ghana's defence, playing the whole game to earn his 6th cap. Everything now hinges on the second leg, to be played in Nigeria this Tuesday. Gideon and co. will need to put in a big performance to qualify for Qatar 2022.

Norway were also in friendly action, against Slovakia. Norway bossed the game, winning 2-0. Both goals came late in the game, courtesy of Norwegian stars Erling Haaland (77') and Martin Ødegaard (80'). Stian Gregersen did not feature in this game, but will hopefully get a chance to shine when Norway face Armenia in another friendly this Tuesday.
