Melissa Herrera's Costa Rica side took on Guatemala overnight in the latest round of the Women's CONCACAF. Melissa started the game, and Costa Rica rapidly took the lead (5’, 1-0). They continued to set the pace and attack ferociously, with Salas doubling the lead thanks to a majestic cross from the Bordeaux winger.(29’, 2-0). Costa Rica were 2-0 up at the break, with qualification for World Cup 2023 already in sight. Herrera provided another assist for Granados to make it 3-0 (52’), and Costa Rica added two more for good measure (64’, 85’) Melissa Herrera came off as a late sub (83’) after an excellent all-round performance. Bravo to Melissa and hear team-mates, and safe travels back to Bordeaux !

Katja Snoeijs' team cruised to victory over South Africa in their friendly encounter. Fresh from thrashing Cyprus (12-0), the Dutch put five past their South African guests. Groenen got the first goal in the 12th minute, but the Banyana Banyana equalised soon after (25’, 1-1). The “Oranje” were not overly perturbed, and scored two more before the break (3-1, 30’, 39’). They added two more in the second half to wrap up another decisive victory. (75’, 91’, 5-1). Katja did not feature on the pitch this time. Congratulations to the Dutch team and see you soon Katja !

Things changed suddenly after the break, with Les Bleues finally taking the lead courtesy of Lyon's Delphine Cascarino (48’, 1-0). It was to be the only goal of the game. Bordeaux's Charlotte Bilbault came on as a late sub, giving her just enough time to enjoy this important victory! (89’) Les Bleues thus wrapped up their qualifying campaign without conceding a single goal, an astounding achievement for Pauline Peyraud-Magnin. They are now sure to play in World Cup 2023, and can turn their full attentions to Euro 2022 (6-31st July 2022) Bravo aux Bleues, bravo aux Bordelaises et bon retour au Haillan !

À peine de retour sur la pelouse, les Bleues ouvrent le score très rapidement grâce à la Lyonnaise Delphine Cascarino (48’, 1-0). Les Françaises prennent l’avantage dans cette rencontre et inscrivent le seul but de la rencontre. La Marine et Blanc Charlotte Bilbault fait son entrée en jeu dans les dernières minutes (89’) pour participer à cette importante victoire !  Les joueuses de Jarc Borut ne parviendront pas à trouver les filets de Pauline Peyraud-Magnin. Les cages des Françaises restent inviolées lors de cette phase éliminatoire.  Les Bleues de Corinne Diacre valident leur ticket pour la Coupe du Monde 2023 et peuvent maintenant se concentrer sur l’Euro 2022 (6 juil. 2022 au 31 juil. 2022). Bravo aux Bleues, bravo aux Bordelaises et bon retour au Haillan !
