Bordelaises triumphant in Dijon [0-2]

The cries of “Bordelaises allez, Bordelaises allez” rang out around Dijon's Stade des Poussots this afternoon, and the travelling fans were not disappointed. Faced with a Dijon FCO team who have not scored a goal in the league since 12 December 2021, Patrice Lair's side wasted no time in taking control of the game. The first chance of the game fell to returning Dutch international Katja Snoeijs, but she could not quite make it count (3’, 0-0). No problem: Katja was back on the attack barely ten minutes later, and this time she fired pas Durand to put Bordeaux into the lead (15’, 0-1). A quarter of an hour later, Ève Périsset picked out Melissa Gomes with a wonderful cross and the latter promptly doubled the Girondines' lead (32’, 0-2).

Dijon finally had their first sight of goal late in the first half, courtesy of some defensive confusion from the Girondines. Fortunately, keeper Laëtitia Philippe had it covered (41’). The Girondines kept pushing forward throughout the second half, dominating the midfield and producing some fine, flowing football. They created plenty of chances, but never quite managed to extend their lead. Dijon battled to the very end, but were ultimately powerless to avoid yet another league defeat (their fifth consecutive loss) as the Girondines ran out with all three point.   The Girondines' next D1 game is a big one: PSG !
