Despite getting the better of Brest, the Girondins de Bordeaux are now officially relegated to Ligue 2 for next season. Ricardo Mangas (13’), Sékou Mara (32’ and 72’) and Javairo Dilrosun (75’) got the goals for the Girondins. Mounié (15’) and Belaïli (33’) scored for the hosts.
It was an honourable finish to the season, but too little too late. The atmosphere was strange to say the least, as Brest celebrated their 70th anniversary while we said goodbye for now to Ligue 1. Ricardo Mangas set the tone with an early goal (13’, 0-1), only for Mounié to equalise two minutes later (15’, 1-1).

It wasn't long before Sékou Mara restored Bordeaux's lead (32’, 1-2), only for Belaïli to level again within a minute (33’, 2-2). The scores were still level at the break, but the Girondins took control of the game in the second half.
Sékou Mara followed up on a shot by Javairo Dilrosun to score his third goal of the season (72’, 2-3). Javairo Dilrosun then scored one himself to put the Girondins two goals clear (75’, 2-4). The score stayed the same for the rest of the game, and this victory did nothing to help our standing in the league table.

Tonight is a sad moment for all Girondins fans. We will be playing our football in the second division next season. A major blow for our supporters, our sponsors, our partners and all of our colleagues, the staff of FC Girondins de Bordeaux.
