Maëlle Garbino signs a new contract

Maëlle Garbino has confirmed that she will definitely be a Bordeaux player next season! The winger has put pen to paper on a new one-year deal which will run until June 2023, with an option to add an extra year. Born in 1996 in Vienne (Isère), Maëlle started out at FC Saint-Romain-en-Gal. She joined the Olympique Lyonnais youth academy in 2011. She was a star performer at U19 level for three seasons (35 matches, 25 buts), then made a few appearances for the first team.

That first professional experience with OL saw her pick up her first silverware: two Coupe de France trophies and two league winner's medals (2015, 2016). Looking to play more regularly, Maëlle made the move to AS Saint-Etienne. She spent two seasons there, including one in D2, making 21 appearances (7 goals). The left winger joined Bordeaux in time for the 2018-2019 season, and rapidly established herself as a key member of the squad. She has gone from strength to strength over the past four years, making 84 appearances, including four in European competitions, and scoring 9 goals.

Maëlle is a top quality player with a superb attitude. Her technical finesse, movement and silky left foot combine to make her a prolific provider of assists. She is also a ferocious tackler with a fighting spirit and keen sense of sacrifice. A model team mate whose quality and experience will be priceless next season.
