The Girondins de Bordeaux are ready to appeal the DNCG's decision to relegate the club to N1

Corps de texte
The Girondins de Bordeaux are surprised and concerned by the decision of the LFP's management control commission (the DNCG) to relegate the club to the National Division on administrative grounds. It goes without saying that the club will be appealing this decision. This brutal relegation - following a seemingly productive two-hour hearing - will hinder the club's efforts to implement an ambitious strategy for stabilising our financial position and opening a bright new chapter in the long history of FC Girondins de Bordeaux. At the meeting called by the DNCG on 14 June, the club provided a guarantee from the majority shareholder to reinvest €10M, as well as an agreement with the club's creditors and offers for several players, the combined value of which easily surpasses the target set by the Commission. The transfer window has only just opened, and transfer deals have not yet been finalised. In spite of the concrete proposals made by the club's management to ensure the long-term survival of the institution, the DNCG has criticised the deal with the main creditors as being insufficient, as well as noting the lack of financial guarantees commensurate with the market value of the players to be sold, and the failure of the creditors to waive their percentage cut of player sales. The club remains confident that it has a robust strategy in place for the 2022-2023 season and beyond. During the time it takes to process the appeal, new solutions will be presented to secure our place in Ligue 2.
