Lenny and Johaneko strike gold at the Mediterranean Games!

The France U18 side won their gold medal game at the Mediterranean Games yesterday, with Lionel Rouxel's side narrowly beating Italy in the final! (1-0) The only goal of the game came from Girondins midfield ace Lenny Pirringuel (68'). This is a superb achievement for Les Bleuets, and just the second time that France have won this tournament - the last time was in 1967!

Lenny Pirringuel and Johaneko Louis-Jean both started the final and played the full 90 minutes. Lenny scored his 3rd goal for France U18 in just his 11th appearance, four of which have come in this tournamenet. Johaneko Louis-Jean, meanwhile, has been a pillar of the French defence throughout the tournament. He too picked up his 11th cap. He has featured in every match in the Mediterranean Games, missing just 26 minutes in the whole competition. This gold medal is a fine way for our youngsters to start their trophy collection. We hope there will be many more to come!
