Emiliano Sala Challenge Cup cancelled

The Organising Committee of the Challenge Emiliano Sala has regrettably decided to cancel the competition, scheduled for 16-17 July 2022. According to their statement, FC Nantes were the deciding factor in this cancellation: "For sporting reasons, and despite their clear commitments, FC Nantes have decided not to take part in the Challenge; we are therefore obliged to cancel the Challenge, given the short notice." All tickets purchased will be refunded. The organising committee is determined that the event will go ahead next year: "The Organising Committee is determined to make the second edition of the Challenge Emiliano Sala a success in 2023, with all teams taking part and perhaps even some new additions, in memory of Emiliano."
