This Saturday afternoon, the centre of Bordeaux was swamped by a massive rally in support of the club. Organised by the Ultramarines, the march was attended by former players, local institutions, partners and employees of the club, all united in defence of FC Girondins de Bordeaux.  Alongside the club's managing director Thomas Jacquemier, mayor of Bordeaux Pierre Hurmic, Paul Baysse, Francois Grenet, Rio Mavuba, Hassan Hanini, Gernot Rohr and Philippe Fargeon all turned out in support of the Girondins. Starting in front of city hall on Place Pey-Berland, the atmosphere was positive and orderly as the crowd strolled down to Place de la Victoire then onwards to Place de la République. Amidst the copious applause and occasional smoke bombs, 3500 supporters (according to the organisers) sang their hearts out for the Girondins as the legal battle over the club's future rages on.
