Zuriko Davitashvili joins the Girondins

Zuriko Davitashvili was born in January 2001 in Tiflis, Georgia. His natural talents brought him to the attention of the country's most prestigious and successful club, Dinamo Tbilisi. After success in the Youth League he made his debut in the Georgian top flight in 2017 (6 matches) at the tender age of 16. He then spent a season and a half with Lokomotiv Tbilisi (29 appearances, 3 goals, 3 assists), where he caught the eye of several Russian clubs. He joined Rubin Kazan in 2019-2020, making 26 appearances and scoring twice. Still just 18, the winger continued to go from strength to strength and picked up more first team experience on loan spells with two more clubs in the Russian top flight: Rotor Volgograd (20 appearances) and Arsenal Tula (20 appearances, 3 goals).

Last April Zuriko decided to return home, joining reigning champions Dinamo Batumi. Zuriko has been on impressive form for Batumi, scoring 6 goals and providing 3 assists in 14 league appearances. He also featured in 4 European games, two in the Champions League (scoring one goal) and two in the Europa Conference League. Zuriko has played a major role in Dinamo Batumi's recent success. The club are currently riding high at the top of the league, with a 13-point lead over their closest rivals. Since the Georgian season starts in February and ends in December, Zuriko joins us with no shortage of match fitness.

Still just 21, Zuriko is also a regular fixture of the Georgian national side. Having represented his country at all of the youth levels, he currently has 19 caps and three international goals to his name. A pacy, technical winger (5'10", 63 kg), Zuriko Davitashvili is a talented young player keen to take his career to the next level with the Girondins.
