A big win to start the new season! [4-2]

Things did not get off to the best start for the Girondines, with Le Havre taking an early lead after just 4 minutes [0-1]. Fortunately, Bordeaux were able to respond in kind almost immediately. Connecting with an excellent ball from Julie Dufour, Maëlle Garbino smashed home the equaliser [1-1, 13’].  Ten minutes later Garbino was at it again, this time providing the assist for Mickaëlla Cardia to fire the Girondines into the lead [2-1, 23']. Just before the break, the Cardia-Garbino double act struck again. This time it was Maëlle Garbino who scored the goal, putting Bordeaux 3-1 up at half-time.

Patrice Lair made one change at half time, and it proved to be an inspired one. Substitute Mélissa Gomes latched onto a ball from Andréa Lardez to put the Girondines 4-1 up in the 53rd minute.  Le Havre pulled one back in the 66th minute, but the Girondines ended the day 4-2 winners to get the new D1 season started in style.
