On their first away trip of the new season, Patrice Lair's side wasted no time stamping their authority on the game. Dominating possession and creating chances, Bordeaux were also gifted some promising set pieces thanks to Dijon's scrappy tackling. For most of the first half, this pressure yielded nothing concrete. Dijon defended hard, and shortly before the break capitalised on a moment of weakness from the Girondines to snatch a goal against the run of play. Léa Declercq fired in the goal (1-0, 39'), leaving Bordeaux with some work to do. The Girondines returned from the pause ready for battle, and Patrice Lair opted to shake things up by sending on Melissa Herrera and Hillary Diaz for Melissa Gomes and Maëlle Seguin. Once again, Bordeaux were on the front foot. That pressure finally paid off in the 70th minute, when Melissa Herrera picked out Maëlle Garbino inside the box. The No. 10 equalised with a superbly-weighted shot that ricocheted in off the post (1-1, 70'), her 3rd goal in just 2 games. Bordeaux took a hard-earned point in Dijon, and will be hoping for more next Saturday when they host Reims.
