U19 – An important win over Niort

After losing in La Roche-sur-Yon last weekend, the U19s bounced back in style to beat Niort (3-1). David Tebili opened the scoring in the second half (50’) and doubled his tally shortly afterwards (61’). Luc Essiena put the game to bed ten minutes after that (70’). Reduced to ten men for the last fifteen minutes, Niort nonetheless succeeded in pulling one back late on (85’). The Girondins are now in 6th place on 10 points after six games. Brest are top of the table on 15 points. Next weekend the young Girondins travel to Nantes.

The young Girondines took a point in Le Mans this weekend (2-2). Despite conceding in just the 7th minute, Bordeaux came close to victory thanks to two goals in rapid succession from Elisa Gonthier (67’) and Carla Lecaille (68’). They were denied the 3 points by a late equaliser from the hosts (82’). The Girondines are currently 4th in the league with 4 points from 4 matches. Their next game will be against La Roche-sur-Yon in two weeks' time.

Sylvain Blaquar's side were soundly beaten by Montpellier (4-0) in their 5th game of the season. The Girondins conceded twice in each half, without finding the net themselves. After this 2nd defeat of the season, the U17 find themselves in 9th place on 5 points. The boys will be looking to turn things around next weekend when they host JE Toulousaine.

After winning their first game, the U16s were beaten at home this weekend by Trélissac (1-2). The lads will be keen to get back to winning ways next weekend in Limoges.
