Girondines too strong for Guingamp [3-1]

In their 6th outing of the D1 season so far, the Girondines got the better of Guingamp [3-1] at Stade Alain Roche in Villenave d'Ornon (33). Mickaëlla Cardia (6') and Maëlle Garbino (17' and 34') got the goals, with Lahmari scoring for the visitors (15'). The Girondines put in a serious, disciplined performance this afternoon. Mickaëlla Cardia handed Bordeuax an early lead (6', 1-0), just rewards for their intense attacking pressure. A few minutes later, a well-taken corner saw Lahmari equalise for the visitors (15', 1-1). But their comeback was to be short-lived: the Girondines were soon back on the front foot. In fact, Maëlle Garbino restored Bordeaux's lead within a minute! (16', 2-1) The Girondines already seemed to be in total control of this game, and Maëlle Garbino soon added to her tally when she connected with a perfectly-weighted ball from Ella Palis (34', 3-1). The second half was a more evenly-matched affair, but Bordeaux never let their guard down. Mylène Chavas produced some fine saves, and the result never really looked in doubt.   Well done ladies!
