Josh Maja named UNFP player of the month for October

Josh Maja takes the top spot! Our striker picked up the UNFP player of the month award for October. He was recognised as the stand-out performer of the month in Ligue 2, ahead of Gautier Lloris (Le Havre AC) and Julien Maggiotti (Stade Lavallois MFC). A well-deserved honour for the prolific forward, who has been on sparkling form so far this season. The Nigeria international has scored seven goals and provided three assists so far this term. Josh thus becomes the first Bordeaux player to take the UNFP award this season.

In fact he becomes the first Bordeaux player to be voted the league's player of the month since April 2009. Back then, Yoann Gourcuff was flavour of the month in Ligue 1 as the Girondins rounded off a magnificent season that saw them win the league title.
