A stinging defeat at the hands of PSG [0-3]

The Girondines looked all-powerful in the first half, clearly dominating and leaving little room for PSG to play. There was a shortage of clear-cut chances, but the best of them fell to Bordeaux: Amanda Gutierres picked out, Maëlle Garbino who fired her shot into the side netting (21’). But it was the visitors, entirely against the run of play, who took the lead just before the half-time whistle, when Diani converted a rare corner (45+1’, 0-1).

Bordeaux kept pushing forward when the match resumed, and Julie Dufour came tantalisingly close to equalising only to see her shot ricochet off Bouhaddi's left post (48’). Once again, PSG were ruthless in exploiting the few chances they had: Baltimore doubled the lead (58’, 0-2), then 13 minutes later Oriane Jean-François put the game to bed (71’, 0-3). Try as they might, the Girondines just could not make their dominance count. The Girondines' next game in D1 Arkema will be an away trip to Soyaux, next Saturday 26 November.
