Shameeka Fishley signs for Bordeaux !

A new striker is on her way to bolster the attacking options at Patrice Lair's disposal: Shameeka Fishley has signed an 18-month deal which will keep her at the club until June 2024. Shameeka was born in September 1993 in Leeds (England). After starting out with Leeds United, she had spells with a number of clubs before joining the Chelsea academy in 2011. She then decided to head stateside to combine her footballing career with university studies.

Shameeka enrolled at the University of Davenport, Michigan, and played for the Panthers. After three full seasons with Davenport, scoring 32 goals in 62 appearances, she headed off for a new adventure in Europe. Shameeka's first professional experiences were in Iceland and Italy, with spells at Sindri (2017), IBV (2018) and Stjarnan (2019-2020) interspersed with seasons at Verona (2017-2018) and Sassuolo (2018-2019).

After one more season in Iceland she headed to Spain, spending a season with Dux Logroño before moving to Turkey for the 2021-2022 campaign. She enjoyed an exceptional season with Fenerbahçe S.K., helping the team to a 3rd-place finish and the play-off semi-finals. Shameeka was also 3rd top scorer in the league, with 22 goals to her name. Her performances in Turkey caught the eye of Hungarian champions, Ferencváros, vying for qualification to the group phase of the Champions League. They did not quite make it through the play-offs, but Shameeka nevertheless scored two goals in their two qualifying matches.  

Shameeka Fishley is a pacy, powerful, all-round formidable attacking force, comfortable playing at centre forward but also fond of drifting out to the left and cutting back inside with devastating speed. The club is delighted to have secured the services of this talented, experienced player who will provide some added firepower to the Girondines squad!
