Girondines through to the quarter-finals! (3-0)

The girls are through to the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France after beating Metz (3-0). Melissa Gomes (67' and 73') and Julie Dufour (70') got the goals for Bordeaux. In the space of 7 second-half minutes, the Girondines put this cup tie to bed. They had already dominated the first half, but had somehow not been able to find the net, in spite of the best efforts of Melissa Gomes and Julie Dufour. But things took a very dramatic turn for the better between the 67th and 73rd minutes: Melissa Gomes scored first (67', 1-0), before Julie Dufour pounced to double the lead (70', 2-0). Metz were still reeling from this one-two attack when Melissa Gomes popped up to score a third goal, definitively sealing qualification for the next round of the cup. Bravo !
