Dilan Bakwa's first-half goal, superbly teed up by Josh Maja, gave the travelling Bordeaux fans something to shout about (30', 0-1). It was just desserts after an opening half-hour in which the Girondins had dominated their hosts. Gaëtan Poussin did have some work to do, particularly saving an early effort from Doumbia (7'), but most of the traffic was headed in the other direction: both Fransergio (13') and Josh Maja came close early on (19'). Josh was at it again a few minutes later, still to no avail (21'). Weissbeck pulled one back for Sochaux before half-time, a set piece goal which was decidedly against the run of play (41', 1-1). No matter, there was still another half to play...

But things were not quite the same after the break.  Sochaux were more enterprising, and Gaëtan Poussin had to produce a very fine save indeed to deny Weissbeck a second (61'). Neither team was keen to take too many risks, but Danylo Ignatenko (84') and Zuriko Davitaschvili (85') both had shots on target late in the day. The game ended in stalemate, one point apiece which changes nothing in the league standings. The Girondins continue their promotion campaign, with their next challenge a home game against Nîmes next Saturday evening.
