Girondines beaten in Guingamp [2-0]

The Girondines travelled north to face Guingamp this afternoon, and came away empty-handed from what was actually a very evenly-balanced encounter. The two sides largely cancelled one another out in the first period, until Traoré managed to sneak an opener for the hosts (1-0; 29'). Bordeaux pushed hard for an equaliser which never quite materialised, despite a very decent effort from Serena Pinto de Queiros which flew just wide of the post. In the final minutes, as the Girondines continued to push forward in the vain hope of a late breakthrough, Guingamp's Renard capitalised on the space left in defence and fired home the hosts' second goal (2-0; 89'). The girls will be counting on a vocal home crowd to help them out in their next game, a home clash with Paris FC on Saturday 25 March.
