Attendances are up as we enter the home straight!

Faithful fans of the Girondins de Bordeaux have been turning out in large numbers throughout the 2022-2023 season: we now have more season ticket-holders than we did last year, and the average turn-out at home games is close to 20,000. A superb performance when you consider that the average attendance in Ligue 2 is 8000! The success of our recent Equality Day double-header was such (the highest attendance in Ligue 2 this season, with 29,007 spectators) that the Club has decided to open the entire stadium for the reset of the season. That means that we are re-opening the top tier of the stadium, closed since August 2022 with the aim of keeping everybody close to the action, creating a lively atmosphere and reducing running costs at the Matmut ATLANTIQUE.  

In just over two weeks the Girondins host promotion rivals Bastia (Saturday 8 April, 15:00) and tickets are already selling fast. For the occasion, every seat in the stadium is on sale at €9 (with the exception of La Halle and the corporate boxes), the last time we will be running this promotion this season. We are hoping to see at least 30,000 fans packing out the stadium and cheering the boys on to victory! We have decided to open up ticket sales for each block of seats one-by-one, to avoid having fans spread out across the stadium. As soon as one block sells out, the next will be opened up.

That's our goal ! We already have stacks of booking requests for the last game of the season, which will be played on the evening of Friday 2 June. Season ticket-holders can already reserve extra seats for friends an family at the usual preferential prices. If it does indeed turn out to be the game that decides who goes up to Ligue 1, we hope to see the stadium packed to the rafters!
