In the Euro 2024 qualifiers, Zuriko Davitashvili's Georgia hosted Stian Gregersen's Norway on Tuesday 28 March. The Crusaders were hoping to make a splash in their first qualifier, while the Norwegians were still reeling from a 3-0 defeat to Spain last Saturday. After an evenly-matched start, Alexander Sørloth silenced the packed stadium in Batumi with a powerful drive from the edge of the box (0-1, 15’). For the rest of the game Georgia defended heroically, and managed to equalise from a lightning-quick counter attack capped off with a laser-guided finish from Georges Mikautadze (1-1,60’). There were more chances for both sides, but the game ended in stalemate. The next Euro 2024 qualifying games will be played in June, with Georgia scheduled to face Cyprus on the 17th and Scotland on the 20th. Norway will do the same in reverse, playing Scotland on June 17th and Cyprus on the 20th.

After losing to Portugal on Saturday, the young Romanians hosted Germany this Tuesday 28 March. As they prepare to host the next Euro U21 tournament, Alexi Pitu's side produced a courageous performance against one of the favourites to win the trophy. Alexi came on as a sub in the second half. Romania will face Spain on 21 June in the opening game of the Euro 2023 U21 tournament.

Les Bleuets played their third and final friendly of the break on Tuesday, after a flamboyant victory over the USA (4-0) and a narrow defeat to the Netherlands (1-2). Things started badly for France, when Harvey Vale's free kick was tapped home by Bashir Humphreys to put the English into the lead (1-0, 11'). Not to be discouraged, Mohamed-Ali Cho snaked his way into the box just before the break and teed up Alan Virginius for an easy finish (1-1, 43’). France dominated for long spells of the second half, but could not quite make it count on the scoreboard. Bordeaux defender Junior Mwanga played the full 90 minutes. These friendlies were organised to help the teams prepare for the forthcoming U20 World Cup.
