The U19s were also victorious this weekend, with Matthieu Chalmé's side getting the better of local rivals SA Mérignac in a hard-fought derby (3-2). The youngsters are on an excellent run of form, and this was their 4th consecutive victory. Nfansu Njie opened the scoring (19’), and Mehdi Harfi doubled the lead before the break. Mérignac managed to pull themselves level in the second half, and Bordeaux were forced to dig deep when a red card reduced them to 10 men (85’). But not even that could stop Alexandre Fernandes' last-gasp winner, which sealed a famous victory for the Girondins (90’). The U19s are currently 7th in the league on 41 points. Next weekend sees their final game of the season, an away trip to Guingamp.
