Born in August 1996 in Vienne, Isère, Maëlle started out with FC Saint-Romain-En-Gal in 2004. By 2008 she had already been scouted to join the youth set-up at Olympique Lyonnais. She played for OL in the U19 National division until 2014, before moving up to the first team squad for two more seasons at the top level. She made a total of 9 appearances for the first team, scoring 3 goals. During this period she also earned her first caps with France U19 and U20. She has since made 19 appearances for the national side, scoring 5 goals. Maëlle moved to AS Saint-Etienne in 2016 in search of more game time, but a knee injury side-lined here for much of the first season. She nonetheless scored 7 goals in 21 appearances for Les Verts.
