Yohan Cassubie joins the Girondins

Yohan Cassubie is the latest addition to the Girondins' midfield. A graduate of the Chamois Niortais academy, Yohan was out of contract and joins us on a three-season deal until 2026. Born in October 2000 in Gonesse, Val d’Oise, Yohan rose through the youth ranks with Niort. He made his Ligue 2 debut in 2021-2022 and rapidly earned a place in the starting eleven. He made 25 appearances for Niort, scoring one goal and providing three assists. In spite of this promising debut season, and his burgeoning talent, Yohan's reluctance to sign a long-term deal with Niort led to him being sidelined. He spent most of last season with the reserves.  

A flexible midfielder as skilled at retrieving the ball as he is in picking out attacking passes, Yohan is a born dribbler who knows how to stay out of trouble (4 bookings in 25 games in 2021-2022). He also boasts great pace and stamina, vital assets in both attack and defence. At 23 years of age, he joins Bordeaux ready to confirm his youthful promise and continue progressing towards the very highest level.
