Zan Vipotnik joins the Girondins

Zan Vipotnik is the latest addition to the Bordeaux squad. Arriving from NK Maribor (Slovenia), Van has signed a five-year deal with the Girondins (until 2028). Born in 2002 in Celje, Zan Vipotnik joined the youth set-up at NK Maribor. He spent the 2020-2021 season on loan with ND Gorica before returning to Maribor and making a name for himself with the club's fans.  

Zan had an exceptional season in 2022-2023, ending the campaign as top scorer in the Prva Liga with 20 goals from 30 games. Having risen through the youth ranks with the national side, in March of this year he won his first full cap with the Slovenia senior side, and even scored his maiden international goal against Kazakhstan. Zan Vipotnik has since won 4 caps at senior level.

Standing 185cm tall, the young Slovene is an attacking all-rounder capable of playing as target man or dropping deeper if required. He is right-footed, but equally prolific with his left foot when given the chance. Not to mention his knack for headed goals and assists! The Girondins de Bordeaux are thrilled to welcome this promising young player to the squad, and we wish him every success in the navy blue.
