Girondines 6-4 Montauban in penultimate pre-season friendly

This Saturday 26 August, Patrice Lair's side took on Montauban (D2F) in Agen in their penultimate friendly of this pre-season campaign. After an open and entertaining matches with no shortage of chances and goals, Bordeaux eventually came out on top by 6 goals to 4. Serana Pinto De Queiros got the first (15’, 1-0), swiftly followed by Marie Ateluce (20’, 2-0). Montauban then pulled one back (28’, 2-1), but Maëlle Seguin (45’, 3-1) and Shameeka Fishley (65’, 4-1) fired Bordeaux into an imposing lead by half time. The breathless pace continued in the second period, and mere minutes after conceding a penalty (75’, 4-2) Andréa Lardez scored one at the other end (78’, 5-2). New recruit Abigail Kofi Kim scored Bordeaux's sixth and final goal (80’, 6-2), before Montauban gave us a late scare with two goals in quick succession (85’, 6-3 & 87’, 6-4). The gap was simply too big, though, and Bordeaux cruised to a 6-4 victory. Patrice Lair's side have one more friendly ahead of them, against Rodez (D2F) next Saturday 2 September, kick-off 18:00 at Stade Firmin Daudou, Trélissac.
